Apologies if I look somewhat worse for wear, my health seems to have taken yet another holiday without forewarning my body.
I have never really been on to wear all black ensembles, excluding formal black tie looks, however over the past few weeks I have been tempted to try a look without any real colour. Whenever I think of wearing all black, I always end up picturing myself wrapped up in a brightly coloured scarf or vibrant plimsoles. Today I therefore decided to try an outfit devoid of any colour.
I decided to wear a black kurta top with white detailing, which my mother had handmade for me when she went abroad recently. On top of this I decided to wear a handmade scarf from the Kashmir region. Unfortunately since the earthquake several months ago, the people of Kashmir have been unable to make their world famous scarves and shawls for export, however I was lucky enough to get this one made for me. Rather than wearing black jeans, I went with grey jeans, to play against the grey shades of the scarf. My Doc Martens completed the outfit, and if you are wondering why I am wearing boots indoors, it is because I still have not broken them in fully!

ReplyDeleteColdest day of winter here ..so far..the negatives. I'm so dreading getting out in it.
Breakups are quite strange. And sometimes, I'm never sure if I hear the absolute. The shock can just leave you ..well, speechless. I guess.

How funny: I've been trying to AVOID wearing colorless outfit, and you've been trying to make yourself don all black. A very striking ensemble indeed, and that scarf looks like softness embodied.
ReplyDeleteAdditionally, I had "Read My Mind" on pretty much constant repeat last year this time. Have you seen the video? Love it to pieces.

Love the outfit. When I was younger I was the opposite, and very rarely wore color. Now though I'm getting to the point where I'll spice up and outfit with a bright red Cardigan, or electric blue skinnies.
Also, I've fallen in love with those shoes. <3
