For their latest ad campaign,
Louis Vuitton have enlisted the help of 007 himself,
Sir Sean Connery. He was photographed by one of the greatest portrait photographers of recent times,
Anne Lebowitz, at 10.07am near his home in the Bahamas. The official tagline for the campaign reads
'There are journeys that turn into legends', referencing no doubt the brands association with a number of high profile people over the years, including the likes of Ernest Hemingway and Audrey Hepburn.
Personally I think Connery looks fantastic in this campaign, carrying off his trademark effortless style and cool demeanour. Pictured alongside one of Louis Vuitton's iconic bags, it is a portrait of two historical fashion icons.
What are your thoughts on the choice?
And may I also add that I have been rather lazy with linking other blogs as of late, so if you would like to exchange links please drop me a note :)Currently playing: Buffalo Soldier - Bob Marleyxxxx

Connery is untouchable, but the whole campaign doesn't do it for me.
ReplyDeleteSir Sean is amazing, but I'm not sure why the campaign isn't striking with me either.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, you and your blog are adorable! 'Dapper' has to be a part of my top 20 favorite words and I love Dunny too!
unexpected choice
ReplyDeletebut i have to admit that man is getting more & more handsome :)
I'm not loving it... it looks really set up and kinda fake. And I'd love to exchange with you, you've been up on my blogroll for awhile! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this - not only the superficial collaboration, but the background too. Also the fact that you are listening to Bob Marley whilst looking at it.
ReplyDeleteA really beautiful ad. I didn't even know who it was at first glance.
ReplyDeleteI love the new campaign.. the colors are so beautiful and enhanced. Classic!

I really like it, surprisingly. It feels so much more comforting seeing LV advertised like this, as opposed to with a skinny, revealing model.
ReplyDeleteOh I like it! He does portray what LV is all about. Very classy and cool here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your birthday, get well wishes and nice words too kind sir.
I've always been a massive Sean Connery fan (best Bond for sure!) and I love this campaign. I think he might be a better representation of the brand than, say, Keith Richards (not that I didn't like that campaign, but I like this one much better!).
ReplyDeleteI have you on my blogroll, would you like to exchange links? :)
I like it. He's dignified, believable, and has loads of credibility.
ReplyDeleteHe's also fully clothed. Whew!
Gosh, he's so thin in this pic. Maybe he's not drinking as much ale as I thought he would be.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the comments. Hope you are having a beautiful weekend.
It works pretty damn well for the brand.
ReplyDeletethanks for the comment.
ReplyDeleteHe is like great wine...better with age...& his voice...phew...
ReplyDeleteHe can be my grandpapa by the way...so I better end here.

I'm not a big fan of Connery because I've heard he's a meanie; however, I AM a fan of the ad. The colors are so beautiful. It makes me want to go to an exotic island.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to exchange link, you have a rad blog =) I'm adding you to my blogroll now!
I can't help associating Louis Vuitton with fake plastic-y bags! I really like this ad though. I also love the one with Francis Ford Coppola and Sofia Coppola. Poetic..
ReplyDeleteAh he is a very classy man and it will appeal so greatly towards the older demographic which is probably where the bulk of peoples
