Due to the unpredictability of the weather I was drawn to natural fabrics, good for both warm and cold weather due to their breathability, yet also insulating natures. Given that, I am wearing a cotton t-shirt, cotton sweater, linen scarf and linen trousers. The boots are a personal favourite of mine, fusing that smart brogues (wingtips for you Americans) look with a more casual style, given the more sports sole of the shoe. Oh and I actually tried to make my hair look reasonable smart today. And I have been thinking that I may need to get a tripod or find somewhere new to take photographs, I'm not too partial to the split look photographs.
Special thanks to The Steel Closet for featuring my Shemagh article in their post!
*EDIT* Many thanks to the wonderful and stylish Fashion Dreamer of Fashion Daydreams for linking me in her post! Apparently we both look pretty in pink on our lazy days :) (check my Duvet Day)

ReplyDeleteawww thanks!! I think I need to get out of Sunday mode and into some decent clothes now...
ReplyDeleteI'm especially loving your blog these days because of your cold-weather outfits you've been presenting! Like England, San Francisco is cold and foggy in the summer (and year-round!)
ReplyDeleteCan I borrow those boots, puhlease? Dang, you look incredible. Wonderful gloomy-day wear, bb.
ReplyDeleteSo, I read your "The Revolution of Fashion" post and it got me thinking about the clothing trends along with writing styles of the British Romantic period, included in the times of the American Revolution/Enlightenment. The transition between Romanticism, Victorian and Enlightenment was such a bit of a leap and as the writing style changed - so did the clothing.
God, sorry I'm writing a novel. Let's go to tea and discuss? :)

ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment! I do really appreciate all the wonderful thrift and vintage shops in my area, I've lived places where there weren't so many, but it did take me awhile to find them all.
those boots are wonderful, Wild West meets smart city banker in brogues, what a fierce little combination! they're so good, I'd love a pair myself! definitely right for the weather we've been suffering at the moment, which is just hideous! disgusting and changeable and impossible to dress for you, but you do miraculously well.
