Studs and Scarves

I went for a short walk this morning, the frost had crept over the pavement and car windows during the night, and the air was beautifully crisp. I have begun to savour my short walks, few and far between, but always appreciated. I decided to wear a pair of purple jeans I altered slightly over the weekend with some studding. Whenever I think of purple jeans and Doc Martens, my mind always seems to make the addition of studs and leather.

Suffice to say, I added the studding and wore a leather look biker jacket. However I decided to go for a slight contrast with such a 'hard' look, opting for a purple floral silk scarf. I find juxtaposing elements in outfits intriguing, it adds an unexpected detail, which is always a joy, regardless of whether others notice or not. You may also spot the red raglan top underneath my sweater, it was a decision to match to my red socks. In addition it also added a nice colour contrast to the purple.

Currently playing: So Sick (Instrumentals) - Neyo (I love the instrumental version, it is wonderfully relaxing)

  18. I think juxtapositions in an outfit always make it more interesting. I'm not a girly girl, but I like wearing girly girl things with menswear elements... makes for a great balance!

  25. I love how your point of the cold is so beautiful, serene, and peaceful. My first thought this morning was, "FUCK! It's cold!" And then I grumbled as I scraped ice off my windshield. Instead of summer vacation, we should have winter vacation. Maybe hibernate like bears in nice, toasty caves with lots and lots of fur.

I loveeee the studs. Was it hard to DIY? I want to do this, but I feel like I will have too much trouble trying to follow the directions.
