Filippa Knutsson

Stockholm based Swedish designer, Filippa K (Knutsson) is someone that is constantly inspiring me through her clothing. When speaking of her designs she says 'I stand by what I do. It feels honest and genuine.' This is indeed the case for me when looking over her latest Fall/Winter 08 collection, entitled 'a breath of fresh air'.

Her simple, and classic yet contemporary, designs are exactly that for me, a breath of fresh air. Whilst many stores seem to push onto us the latest short lived trends, enticing us with beautiful garments we can barely afford with the promise of being 'fashionable' for an elusive moment, Filippa K stands apart. I see her clothing as something one could keep and wear for a long time, yet remain fashionable throughout, which is exactly why I would consider these as investment pieces. With the news constantly frothing up fears of the ongoing global recession the idea of good investment pieces is finally becoming a mainstream one. The wonderful fact that the clothing is classically designed and built to the highest quality is quite a comforting one.

Indeed their design philosophy sums this up perfectly, with the mantra: Style, Simplicity and Quality.

  1. Those are some really lovely photos! I think Filippa K has such a great talent for designing silhouettes. Still, Scandinavian designers still don't get the attention they deserve in my opinion.

  3. Wow! that really is inspiring. The colors are just the best for fall. Such timeless and classic pieces, but still modern and today. I love the long cardigan in the last Men's look.

  6. Very contemporary and classic, as you mentioned, yet also ethereal. :)

I just recently re-discovered Golden grahams and had the whole box in less than a week (by myself!) hahha childhood memories... and I 100% prefer strawberry jam over anything else, I used to like grape, but quickly tired of it. Thanks for checking out my v-log.

I actually prefer the men's outfits to the women's.

  18. YES! Exactly! I usually do not spend alot on fashion unless I can get mileage out of it.

Her pieces are incredible...timeless and charming. Appealing and elegant.
