The 'New' Marilyn

I have these photographs of the delightfully stunning Katherine Heigl, of Grey's Anatomy fame (*ahem*Roswell*ahem*), knocking about on my laptop since January. I thought that in light of the Vanity Fair issue on Marilyn Monroe this month, I ought to post them. I find the styling of these photographs exquisite, although not the most original formula for a shoot, they work wonderfully and Heigl fits the role perfectly.

  1. Agreed, they're not that original, but who needs original when the photos and their subject look this good!?

She's great. I love that hair, too, it reminds me not only of MM, but of Veronica Lake. For years, I've wished I could get my hair to do that.

  2. gorgeous photos, but she really annoys me for some reason. one recent-ish vanity fair editorial that i really loved was the gemma ward/george clooney one.

hey, you changed your sidebar photos! these are awesome. any chance you have a bigger version of the first girl? i love her hair!

  6. I knew there would be something we'd disagree on, just didn't know it would be Katherine Heigl.

Boring, overrated, and generally ungrateful for everything life has thrown at her (fame, television career, loved by millions.)

  8. Ugh :/

She's been annoying me lately, and I can't say that she oozes sex appeal for me. Marilyn Monroe = sex on legs, and I can't say the same for Katherine, pretty as she may be!

  9. Sorry, but Katherine is no Marilyn Monroe, not close at all except maybe their appearance. She doesn't seem to have that special quality or sexiness about her on her normal/regular days.

  11. These are lovely, but she actually reminds me more of Grace Kelley. She's gorgeous, a little aloof--not that overtly sexy vibe I always get from Monroe.

  15. I know this is really mean and childish, but .... her face looks royally fucked up on the cover.

  16. I dunno...I think indifference is my best response. But you've got me thinking about Roswell and I can't place her character.
